Greetings all! Happy New Year! Or if this isn't your new year, happy date on the arbitrary calendar!
This is bonus episode 2 for the holidays, and I'm giving you another Squeak story. Again, I apologise for the quality of the photos, but they're cute and illustrative so I hope you'll forgive me.
In the first place we lived together, we had a big, solid wardrobe in the bedroom. On top, we stored a suitcase, the cat carrier, and a couple of other things.
Squeak, after we got Doofus & Monster, started wanting a place to hide out a bit. And I'd catch her staring at the top of the wardrobe like she was longing to get up there.
So, I put her up there!
She was not pleased. Not one bit. Apparently the thought of getting up there was better than the reality. Eventually, she gathered herself and leapt off onto the bed/me.
On consideration, however, it seemed she liked the wardrobe, so she started asking to be put up there. She'd sniff around, perch on that corner, then jump down. And this went on for a week or two.
Until she realised that I had opened the suitcase and thrown in an old t-shirt of mine for some comfort.
Then, she would just go hide in the suitcase. Sometimes she'd be peeking out like above, other times she would just be asleep in there, enjoying the peace and quiet.
It got to a point where we just gave up and used some boxes to make her a little set of stairs so she could climb up there without needing my help. But of course that just meant that the flying cat could arrive at any moment…
I hope this little story tickled you a bit. See you tomorrow for the regular one!
This is a super cute story. Do you have any pictures of the stairs you made? I’m curious how you crafted them!
